This thesis presents several modified methods to improve the dispersion of wood-flour and the adhesion between wood-flour and poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC) . The paper consist of five parts ,including the fundamental performance of PVC , the physical and chemical characters of wood-flour, compare of different treating methods of wood –flour , effect of the contents and granularity of wood-flour on the properties of composites , analysis of microstructure of composites , and so on. The wood-flour was treated with silane coupling agent , NaOH solution and silane coupling agent. The wood-flour also was grafted by poly(methyl methacrylate) on the surface induced by Ce4+. The effectiveness of modifications made on the surface of wood-flour was then characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Tensile test, impact test , shear test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were employed to evaluate the adhesion between the wood-flour and the PVC matrix. Grafting has been identified as a best adhesion promoter for PVC/wood-flour composites while other treating methods did not promote adhesion between PVC and wood-flour much. The study on this technique in our country lags behind that of the abroad, so this thesis can make a good basis for the industrialization of the composites...
