The present thesis centers on discussing the design of technological route for preparation of water-based epoxy resin emulsion through the following steps: epoxy resin was modified partly and carboxyl was introduced by p-amino benzoic acid. The modified product was neutralized and dispersed with neutralization agent and dispersant. The sacrificial water-based epoxy anti-corrosion coatings consists of Aluminum-Zinc alloy powder and the modified water-dispersed epoxy emulsion. The influences of active dispersant, security neutralization agent, sacrificial pigment and pigment volume concentration (PVC) on the features of the coating are discussed. The specimens with the new coating were examined through routine property testing, potential monitoring, salt spray testing and AC impedance testing. An excellent corrosion resistant waterborne epoxy resin coating of dual packing, low temperature curing and environment protection was developed.
