Nano-titanium was developed successfully in eighty years 20th. Since imperceptibility of the partible size of titanium dioxide, the proportion of its area and volume increased with it . Because the lattice environment and binding energy of atom is different in the inside and surface of material, the tremendous chemistry active and surface energy is assembled on the surface of particles. At the same time, because the number of atom is reduced in particles, the interval of energy level increase in the energy band, the speciality of electromagnetism and calorifics occur transformation, endowed nano-titanium with a lot of unique performances.Nanometer compound paint is composed of nanoparticles and organic resin paint. The paint will have special effect if add nanoparticles into paint., so the compose paint will have unique mechanics, optics, electricity and magnetism performance different from conventional paint. Because Nanoparticles have huge specific surface area, they have good surface adhesion with organic resin. The compound paint can combine hard with various precursors and produce some properties the precursor have not on synergistic action of various component in compound paint, so, raise mechanical properties of coating, such as strength, hardness, antiwear properties etc. the nanometer compound paint was applied for martial invisible coating, electrostatic screening coating and atmosphere purification coating etc.This paper introduced mostly the preparation, modification and application of nano-titanium. emphatically , alter sex and application. Nanoparticle of titanium were prepared by a sol-gel process using acetic acid as chelating agents, nitric acid or ammonia as catalyzer, Ti(OBu)4 as raw material. Studied some effect of conditions on gel time such as quantity of commingled water and Ti(OBu)4, pH value, hydrolysis temperature, chelating agents, mixing time and method of adding water; compared influence of various dry way on the structure of gel; analysed calcination temperature influence on crystal structure. The crystalline, particle size and morphology of nano-titanium was charactered by TEM, XRD, DTA and TGA etc. The result shows the sample is rutile by calcination on 800癈 and dispersing is well; theparticle of sample is sphericity; distribution of particle size is narrow, in 30~ 40 nm. The best material proportion and reaction condition were educed.Nano-titanium of various particle size and crystalline were prepared by hydrolyzation method using TiCl4 as raw material. We studied hydrolysis temperature and sulfuric acid ion influence on reaction. The sample of nano-titanium was charactered by TEM, XRD, DTA etc. The result shows the sample is rutile by calcination on 800 and dispersing is well; the particle of sample is sphericity; distribution of particle size is narrow, in 20-30 nm.On the foundation of upwards of studies, the nano-titanium was modified by deposition method using Si(OC2H5)4 as precipitator. The surface structure of nano-titanium was charactered by IR, TEM etc. The result shows the surface structure of nano-titanium was changed, the performance of nano-titanium was improved. The modification is not only a physical coating but an chemical band. The result shows there are Ti-O-Si band on surface of nano-titanium.Nanometer compound paints was prepared by adding modified nano-titanium titanium into epoxy resin. The best material proportion was educed by brush and spray. The pliability, cohesion, resistance to acid and alkali, impact resistance of paint film was charactered by relevant assessment methods.
