[60]Fullerene is a kind of new allotrope of carbon followed by diamond and graphite. The unique spherical shape and conjugate three-dimensional electric system of [60]fullerene make it attract much attention for their potential applications as functional materials, but the usefulness of [60]fullerene itself has been rather limited. In recent years, many novel derivatives of [60]fullerene with interesting property have been synthesized and characterized, it is believed that they can construct useful materials for various purposes and possess large potential applications in many fields because of interesting physical and chemical property. In this thesis, the ultraviolet optical property of the functionalized derivatives of [60]fullerene were subjected to systemic investigation. The main content and conclusion are divided into following parts:a. A series of blend membranes with various contents of [60]fullerene and its derivatives were prepared using the chitosan, poly(vinyl alcohol) and polystyrene as matrix by casting method, and the ultraviolet optical property of the membranes were studied by the light transmission spectra. The results show that the blend membranes of the [60]fullerene ethanolamine or [60]fullerene ethyleneamine doped in chitosan and poly(vinyl alcohol) have unique ultraviolet optical property. The light transmission spectra of the blend membranes continuously shifts to high wavelength with increasing [60]fullerene derivatives and the cut- off wavelength shifts from 200 nm to about 400 nm. But the other membranes have no red-shift of the cut-off wavelength with increasing contents. As to UV optical property of blend membranes, we also researched on influence of chitosan with the various molecular weight and deacetylation degree, the crosslink and the carboxymethyl with.b. Absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra of [60]fullerene derivatives and its composite have been recorded, and the mechanism of the red-shift of cut-off wavelength with increasing contents was further explored. The results demonstrated thetunability of [60]rullerene ethylenediamine doped in chitosan membrane in UV region due to the formation of charge transfer complex(CTC) between [60]fullerene ethylenediamine and chitosan. It's found there was interaction between the [60]fullerene derivatives and chitosan from infrared spectra and the red-shift of the blend membrane of [60]fullerene ethanolamine and chitosan may be duo to the formation of new hydrogen bond.c. We studied UV optical property of the ternary composite membrane of metallic ions(or nano-SiO) [60]fullerene ethanolamine and chitosan. The UV optical property of the blend membranes greatly enhanced with the introduction of Cu(II) , Fe(II) or nano-SiO, What's more, we found that polypropylene covered with the blend membrane improved the aging resistance property of ultraviolet ray.d. The polyethylsilicate modified by [60]fullerene ethanolamine coating was prepared through the sol-gel process. The mechanical and aging properties of the coating have been studied, the results show that the mechanical property of the coating have no change with adding 0.026% [60]fullerene ethanolamine, but the aging resistant property of the coating was improved with the the introduction of [60]fullerene ethanolamine.
