The paper tried to combine the virtual instrument with chemical engineering application, the simulation system for continuous stired tank reactor(CSTR) was developed by using virtual instrument development software LabVIEW, the case of a first-order exothermic irreversible reaction was studied and the behavior of multiple steady-state and the reactor dynamic process were analysed during the steady-state and dynamic simulation by using the simulation system, the best optimal operation and the motheds avioded unsteady-state were brought forward according as simulative results. At the same time, parametric sensitivity of reactor was simulated and analysed. The results showed that parametric sensitivity of CSTR was very sharp within the definite condition. The study described in the paper showed that LabVIEW was one of all-right tools for simulation and had a wide foreground in chemistry and chemical engineering field.
