Technology about high cut in fully mechanization face which is often used to mine4.0m-4.5m thick coal seam is the main approach and has been widely applied by a lot of collierys in our country. On the basis of observation to Cuijiazhai colliery, HeiBei, deformation, failure and rib fall of coal mass, movement law of roof and support stability are studied by adopting the method of measuring on-site, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. Using broad sense Mises criterion to lead out the width of plasticity district of coal mass and calculation formula of the vertical stress, analyze mechanism of rib fall of coal wall and put forward corresponding measure of prevention and cure. Using 2D - a finite element numerical simulation software, has carried on the numerical simulation experiment to study to the systematic model of coal rock of working face. Through analyzing failure the close to the line chart of one degree of equivalence and chromatogram picture to the coal mass, regard Mohr- Coulomb criterion as the basis of judging, comparatively determine the coal mass plastic area width accurately according to the size of the main stress, and determine the range of draw stress of coal wall and roof to appear on high cut in fully mechanization coal mining.Stability of support is another key whether this technology is carried. It is simple and easy to be popularized on-site to judge support stability by using the concept of the area of force equilibrium. Examined by the scene, the conclusion is accurate, reliable. On the basis of theory analysis and numerical simulation, to combine project practice and primarily form a suit of suitable technology of control of roof and support of high cut.
