The significance of studying natural fiber/polypropylene composites depends on their man affinity property, environment amicableness , sustained property. We can search for a new applied field of abundant natural fibers by exploiting them, increasing natural fibers'utilizing level and reducing serious damage due to improper disposal. It is good to nation'environment project. At the same time ,the dosage of polypropylene (PP) is reduced. Therefore ,exploitation of the composites is a piece of available approach that the depose becomes the treasure, treating agriculture castoff by non-pollution disposal, and raw and processed materials can be reduced. So ,it is obvious that the significance of investigating the composites is far-forth.The poor dispersion characteristics in the PP melt and limited compatibility with the PP matrix is due to the fact that natual fiber is the polarity hydrophilic material and PP is the non-polarity hydrophobic material. Aiming to these problems ,we introduced physical and chemicalmethods to modify the natural fibers. The experiment results show that the composites based on lower fibers treated with alkali solution are preferable properties materials; the composites based on higher fibers can have preferable properties by the chemical method modification that the incorporation of MAPP(maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene) in the system will enhance compatibility and improve dispersibility. However ,the composites are greater brittleness. We modified the toughness properties by choosing EPDM(ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer) or POE(ethylene-l-octene copolymer). The experiment results show that the composites based on POE are better mechanical and processing properties than the composites based on EPDM. We researched microstructure of the system and the influence of DCP(dicumyl peroxide) on the composites based on EPDM or POE,it is found that the properties of composies are poor with the presence of DCP. So, this experiment is provided with definite using value and theory value.
