The paper excogitates rubber large-deformation non-contact measurement method based on CCD(Charge Coupled Device) application technique and image recognition theory. Measurement of the large deformation quantity of rubber material during stretching process by using matrix CCD detectors in non-contact mode, not only is more objective than the common extensometer measurement method, but also can measure the whole process from deformation to breaking. Otherwise, the method has more privileges as non-wearing, non-introducing accessional measuring error, high measuring precision, display of deformation velocity, and so forth. Especially, force- deformation curve can be drawn automatically, and thus all kinds of ultimate characteristic parameter of rubber material can be acquired. At the same time, examination report is created by test system. The new idea based on CCD application technique and image processing technique being applied to non-contact measurement will solve those problems achieved hardly by contacting measurement method.
