The fire caused by spontaneous combustion of the coal occupies very large proportion in the mine fire of the summary, so it is administration focal point in the mine defending and putting out the fire. In order to reduce and dispel the danger brought from spontaneous combustion of coal, scientific qualify the spontaneous combustion tendency of coal and accurately fix the spontaneous combustion period of coal that it have important meaning extremely to prevent and cure spontaneous combustion of the coal.This thesis introduce current situation of domestic and international in spontaneous combustion tendency and spontaneous combustion period of coal at present at first. On the rudimentary knowledge of spontaneous combustion of coal and thermal kinetic, combining the thermogravimetry experiment on 3 coal samples of Shendong mine area, this can draw such kinetic parameters as activation energy of 3 kinds of coal and pre exponent factor, etc. The preliminary study on the spontaneous combustion tendency and ...spontaneous combustion period of coal based on activation energy index is done..Discovered tentatively, this method is scientific, objective. It has great significance to the management of safety state, assessment of coal mine.
