Nitrogen atomization technics is widely utilized to produce the super-tiny spherical aluminum powder by powder metallurgy industry. In this paper, a control system design is applied for a certain nitrogen atomization aluminum powder production process, involving some advanced control technologies such as on-line optimization and fuzzy control strategy integrated to achieve excellent control performance for the process.The atomizing nitrogen pressure is the key factor of influencing the super-tiny spherical aluminum powder rate in aluminum powder atomization process. The kinetic energy contained in atomizing nitrogen is decided by the atomizing nitrogen pressure. The lower nitrogen pressure can not atomize the aluminum liquid efficiently, but the higher results in large energy consumption. In this paper, the main influencing factors of nitrogen atomization aluminum powder production process are analyzed. The function of scaling super-tiny powder rate is formulated, based on which a calculating method for the optimal atomizing nitrogen pressure is presented, and a practical on-line searching control strategy is applied to illustrate the excellent performance.For aluminum powder nitrogen atomization process, it is very important to keep the temperature of the melting aluminum stabilizing in atomization furnace. But atomization furnace is a nonlinear, large delay and uncertain system, and conventional PID controller cannot be competent for this work. In this paper, a Fuzzy-PID hybrid controller is presented to control the temperature of the melted aluminum. The advantages of both fuzzy controller and PID controller are integrated in the Fuzzy-PID hybrid controller. The field application is carried out to illustrate effectiveness of the Fuzzy-PID hybrid controller."Advanced Control System for Aluminum Powder Atomization Process" is an integrated control system to achieve excellent control performance for the process. The system makes a feature of utilizing advanced software and hardware. Convenient operation, quick response, stable running, low failure rate and easy update are the advantages of the system.
