. Ball screw is critical components of the numerical controlled machine tool. The precision ball screw of high accuracy has been listed as key developing products by many countries. The aim of this topic is how to improve the machining precision ofball screws, especially the machining precision of screw-pitch. In now days,microcomputer, auto-check technique and intelligence control technique has developedquickly. It is important to use high-tech to improve the machining precision of the ball screws.The article main studies the grind machining process of precision lead screw. It quantitatively analyzes the affect of the precision of the screw-pitch by calculating the error of the machine drive-chain, the error of the thermal deformation of the grinding process system and the deformation error of the leadscrew by power. And it provides scientific basis for further effective compensation.On the basis of available heat conduction of the object, we use two-dimensional heat conducting model to solve the distribution regularity of inner temperature field of precision long leadscrew, and analyze the heat deformation regularity of the leadscrew. Then we summarize the heat phenomenon of grinding process of leadscrew by an emulational example, which provides scientific basis for the compensation of heat deformation error in grinding process.We design an intelligence compensation control system of leadscrew grinding machine error, advance an intelligence PID control method by improve algorithm, andintroduce its control theory and realize method. This system can reduce the effect of all kinds of the disturb and random factor. Thereby it can improve the grinding precision of the leadscrew.Finally, we use the researched system to make a comparison experiment of leadscrew grinding. The result indicates that the precision can be improved 1-2 precision grade by using the compensation control method.This method and result can be used in the machining control of other parts. It can provide technique support in theory for intelligence check and compensation in precision machining process. It is important to further develop precision mechanical manufacturing technique.
