Air-anion is praised as air vitamin, and it is of advantage to man's health. Air-anionconcentration has been an important index in evaluating cleanness of the area air. The paper tookXuhui district of Shanghai for example, studied the temporal-spatial pattern of air-ion concentration,and the correlativity between air-ion concentration and environmental factors on typical ground indifferent urban function-area. There were many factors such as air-ion, green-volume, PM10, solarradiant, temperature, humidity and wind speed of each season in urban garden, and in habitation,and in campus, and in traffic road were observed by the experiment during Aug-2004 to Mar-2005.Further, the daily pattern of air-ion concentration, and seasonal pattern, and spatial pattern, andcorrelativity between it and environmental factors were analyzed.It was showed that the air-ion concentration changed obviously on a typical ground during aday. The maximal concentration of small air-ion appeared at 3 to 4 AM. and 3 to 4 PM. and the Min.appeared in traffic fastigium. And maximal concentration of big air-ion appeared at 9 AM. to 13 PM.and the Min. appeared in wee hours, and the air cleanness in wee hours was bigger than in the day. Itwas showed that the air-ion concentration changed obviously on a typical ground during the year.The small air-ion concentration was highest in summer, and less higher in spring, and lowest inwinter. The big air-ion concentration in winter and spring was higher than in summer and autumn.The air cleanness in summer was higher than the other seasons. It was showed that the air-ionconcentration changed obviously in different urban function-area. The small air-ion concentrationwas higher in garden area than in habitation, in campus, and in traffic road. The big air-ionconcentration was lower in garden area than in habitation, in campus, and in traffic road. The aircleanness in garden area was higher than the other urban function-areas. It was showed that theair-ion concentration changed obviously on a different structure ground of different urbanfunction-area. The big air-ion concentration was higher on staunch ground than on single lawnground than double shrub and lawn ground than double arbor and lawn ground than double arborand shrub ground and multilayer ground, and the big air-ion concentration was on the contrary. Theair cleanness on multilayer ground in garden area was the highest, and the air cleanness on staunchground in traffic road was the lowest. There were relations between air-ion concentration andenvironmental factors. There was negative correlation between small air anions and PM10, and therewas plus correlation between small air anions and green-volume. There was plus correlationbetween large air cations and PM10, and there was negative correlation between large air cations andgreen-volume. There was negative correlation between CI and ground-temperature, and there wasplus correlation between CI and ground-humidity, and there was no distinct correlation between CIand wind speed, and solar-radiant. PM10 and green-volume are the two key factors to the aircleanness of urban ground, however the meteorological factors such as ground-temperature andground-humidity make little affect to the air cleaning degree of urban ground.
