2,6-Naphthalne dicarboxylic acid(2,6-NDA) is the key monmer to prepare polyesters, polyetherurethanes, polyamides. In this paper 2-methyl-6-propionylnaphthalene is prepared by 2-methylnaphthalene(2-MN) and the propionyl chloride, nitrobenzene as solvent and aluminum trichloride(AlCl3) as catalyst.2,6-NDA is prepared by 2-methyl-6-propionylnaphthalene by liquid-phase catalytic oxidation, Co-Mn-Br as the catalystic system and HAC as solvent. On the best condition the yield of 2,6-NDA is more than 91.7%, and the purity of 2,6-NDA is 99.5% after purification, which can be used to prepare polymers.Aromatic polyamides are well known as the most important high-performance polymers. After discussed the factors affect the polycondensation reaction with 2,6-Naphthalne dicarboxylic acid(2,6-NDA) and 2-(4-aminophenyl)-4-[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]-2,3-phthalazin-1-one (DA), the optimum preparation conditions is concluded as follows: concentration of monomer is 0.35mol/L, VNMP:Vpy is 5:1, mCaCl2/VNMP+Vpy is 12%, reaction temperature is 110℃ and reaction time is 4 hrs.In this paper 2,6-NDA is applied to prepared new types of polyamide containing the phthalazionone moiety. Firstly two new aromatic diamines, 2-(4-aminophenyl)-4-[2-methyl-4-(4-amino-phenoxy)phenyl]-2,3-phthalazin-l-one(MM-DA),2-(4-arninophenyl)-4-[3-methoxy-4-(4-aminophenoxy)pheny]-2,3-phthalazin-l-one(OO-DA) are synthesized and characterized by FTIR and 1HNMR etc.Two serials of new polyamides containing phthalazinone moieties are prepared by the novel diamines, OO-DA or MM-DA, and different aromatic diacides, 2,6-NDA, TPA or OBBA, under the Yamazaki phosphorylation procedure. The inherent viscosity of the polyamides is 0.892.08 dL/g ,and the polyamides also exhibited excellent thermal stability, solubility, mechanical property and electrical resistance property.Four series of new co-polyamides are prepared with the novel diamine MM-DA and NDA, then TPA, OBBA, DAPE, or PPD as the third monomer, and the relations of stucture and properties are studied, too.
