Refinery of raw sugars is one of the important working procedures of sugar work production. Sugar crystal is separated from brown sugar by means of centrifugal operation. The traditional method to determine the level of centrifugal operation is mainly by means of manual work. It sometimes brings on an unstable quality production and a waste of resource. This dissertation discusses a new way to measure and control the centrifugal separating operation depending on optical, high-resolution photography and image processing technique, which has the advantage of high sensitivity and stable quality. It also can overcome the shortcoming of manual operation, improve productivity and automatic level of sugar works.Aiming at the characteristics of centrifugal separating operation, this dissertation makes a project as a whole and focuses on the following two sections: one is to build a rational realizing hardware platform for the real time requirement. The other is to design the software of the image acquisition and processing algorithm in DSP. The main work in this dissertation is as follows: 1.To design a currency image processing system based on TI DSP processor TMS320C6204. This system could overcome the shortcoming of the traditional method, provide with higher performance of centrifugal than before and improve the quality management. 2.According to above project, hardware is selected firstly and then particular hardware circuit is designed. The image acquisition module consists of image sensor CCD, A/D converter and MCU C8051F231 . The software design of image feature extraction algorithm also is discussed. The result after image processing is transferred to MCU to control centrifugal. Last, the dissertation makes a sum and expectation for the research task.
