The phase behavior of aqueous two-phase system, rheological property and surface (or interfacial) tension of anionic surfactant (SDS) and cationic surfactant (CTAB) aqueous mixtures have been investigated in this thesis as well as the micorstrucure of sytem. At the same time, the application of system for Enhanced Oil Recovery(EOR) was studied for the first time.Firstly, the influence of salt on the aqueous two-phase has studied through the determination of phase behavior. The anionic ion and and cationic ion of added salt can affect the ATPS_C region and ATPS_a region respectively. The influence degree becomes greater and greater with the increasing of ion radius. Surface activity has been studied in this paper according to changes of the phase region by use of K-12 surface and interfacial instrument and Texas-500 interfacial instrument. As a result, the mixture of cationic surfactant and anionic surfactant can reduce the surface tension (less than 30mN/m) and interfacial tension (reduced to 10"4 mN/m grade) apparently. It will be further reduced with addition of salt.Sencondly, the rheological property of system has been studied by use of RV20 viscosity machine. The system solution belongs to Newtonian fluids when it appears isotropy transparent and False Plastic fluids when milky and precipitated. The addition of salt will not reduce the viscosity of system, but impove it apparently. And the system will have greater anti-shearing ability because of salt. The special additive such as sodium salicylate can strengthen the interaction between aggregation and water, which causes great increasement of viscosity.Thirdly, the microstructure of system has been investigated by use of BLAZER BAF-400D, JEM-100CX and JY-T64000 type Raman Spectrum instrument. As a result, the surfactant -rich phase of aqueous two-phase close to the middle has a microstructure...
