The interfacial properties of the synergistic assemblies of the anionic-cationic surfactant mixture system and the additive-surfactant mixture system,as well as their effects on the tin electrodeposition were studied in this paper.Cyclic voltammetry(CV)was used as a research method in this paper. Moreover, the critical micelle concentration(CMC)and the inhibition efficiency(IE)were used as a measurement of the synergistic effect and the inhibition ability.Meanwhile, the effects of single additives and mixed additives on the performance of tin electrodeposited coatings were investigated by the results of scanning electron microscopy images and carbon content.Among the different mixed anionic and cationic surfactant systems(OPES-CTAB、OPES-DeTAB、OPES-HTAB、OPES-BTAB、OPES-BDDAB),we can found that the OPES-BDDAB system exhibits the strongest synergistic effect and the best inhibitory ability due to its electrostatic and hydrophobic effects.Further, when the OPES-BDDAB system was combined with phthalic acid(PA)and rutin(RT),the mixture systems were formed. The synergistic effect of PA-(OPES-BDDDAB)system was enhanced due to PA and OPES-BDDAB were co-adsorbed on the electrode surface. Therefore,a dense self-assembled film was formed, which enhanced the ability of suppressing the reduction of tin ions on the electrode surface. However, the interaction of RT with OPES-BDDAB limited the absorption of RT on the electrode surface, thus the added RT has no significant effect on the synergistic effect of the system.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)images indicate that more regular and compact deposits can be obtained from the electrolytes in the presence of mixed additives than a single additive. However, the coating is dense, bright, and the grain size is small when PA-(OPES-BDDAB)system is as an additive. In addition, the carbon content results demonstrate that the formation of additive-surfactant interactions may tune the interaction of the organic additives with the electrode and control the adsorption behavior of the organic additive, which in turn decreases the risk associated with the incorporation of organic additive into the deposit. The inhibition efficiency of the system can be changed significantly by changing the concentration of methanesulfonic acid, the concentration of tin methanesulfonate and the ratio of anionic-cationic surfactants mixture in the electrolyte. It can be seen that the synergistic effect of the anionic-cationic surfactant mixture system and the mixture system of additive-mixed surfactant was affected by the composition of the electrolyte. |
