Nowadays, in the process of checking against NC program automatically, the main research way is NC manufacturing graphics simulation. Simulation on programmed NC procedure by computer graphic technology can not only examine correctness and rationality of NC procedure, but also reduce higher waste and cost by test-machining before. Because the resultant graph is third dimension, it can directly check the accuracy of NC program, also make NC programmer check collision and interference, verify NC program by the graphics display. Consequently, the NC graphic simulation is becoming a key technology in the CAD/CAM field.Analyzed the current condition and existing problem of NC machining , compared NC simulation system theory and methods in existence, combined the limit in technical level and experiment restrictions, the design principle ,i.e.-general layout for interface and independent realization for function module is advanced in this paper based on the Visual Basic developing environment. The specific designing and developing steps are described. By using visible and face-object programming tools, the simulating methods of the NC turning machine-work surrounding in the planar display mode is presented. The methods of expanding function for further system are also forwarded.Simulation system apply in NC turning machining is investigated and designed, this system is made of roughcast module, cutter and clamp decision-making module, NC programming module and NC machining simulation module. Expatiated plans, principle and target of the system. It can check and correct NC programs timely and expediently, and thus make NC programs get optimized.On the basis of NC turning machining shaping theories, put forward turning simulation flow and roughcast design, set up cutter store. Emphasized disposal on NC code; In the chapter of real graphic display of the simulation, discussed image process technologies and graphic display means. Introduced how to realize beeline and arc interpolation, how to check interference and corresponding modification.The system has whole Chinese simulation circumstance based on Windows. Take Visual Basic as background, use its strong interface design function, the user can directly observe the machining effect instead of actual machining. The running result of the system shows that the method is compact and effective. It caters for the trend of highly integration in current manufacturing.The system applies in NC turning machining simulation of planar graph, form teaching experiment environment. It can be a complementary way in NC machining simulation and provide students with a good simulation operate condition to improve teaching effection. So it has evidently practical value for NC teaching and training.
