The surface quality is a very important aspect for a mechanical part besides machining precision. The surface quality means the state of external layer after the part is machined. It is impossible that the surface gained by any machining is perfectly slippery. There is some microcosmic error of geometrical shape on the surface. It is formed by the trace of the cutter when the part is machined, transmutation when the scrap is separating from the part, friction between the cutter and the surface of the part, vibration of high frequency in the technical system.In the process of a machine being used, the working performance of the part will be gradually ruined; so as to it cannot be used finally. The primary reason includes wear, cauterization and weariness wreck that is occurred on the surface of the part or begins from the surface of the part. The surface quality will influence working capability of the part such as wearablility, copulate precision, weariness intensity, anti-cauterization, rigidity of tangency and airproof capability. People bring forward more and more desires for the surface quality along with the development of the technology. Especially in the high-speed and precision equipment like space navigation, machine tool, automobile, apparatus and meter, a number of important parts work under the condition of high-pressure, high-speed and high-temperature.The strict desire about geometrical shape of part surface is put forward besides good physics and mechanics capability. The surface shape after cutting will seriously influence physics and mechanics capability and life of the part.
