Study On Technology And Equipment For Superfinishing Of Spherical Rollers

Bearings are precision products produced in batches, and are basically relied on manufacture technology and equipments. Only advanced manufacture technology and responsive equipments is able to ensure the technical and economical targets properly realized such as precision, properties, reliability, cost and so on.The service life and reliability of convex roller bearings in our country is much lower than that of similar products abroad. In addition to material and heat-treatment, the primary cause for that is the poorer processing quality of bearing parts resulting from underdeveloped manufacture technology, in which the finishing process technology and equipment is much more underdeveloped than that in developed countries. Rollers are important parts for bearings, and are basic parts of elementary components and are in the second position according to the effect on the bearing life, only behind inner rings. Therefore, it is urgent for bearing industry to develop and research the technology and equipments for superfinishing of spherical roller.The primary works have been done in following aspects for study on the superfinishing technology and equipments: the superfinishing process method of spherical rollers; the basic requirement for designing machine tools to be met; the design of main arrangement of machine tools; the design and calculation of basic parts of machine tools; the experimental study on the superfinishing technology. The results show that: after superfinishing process, the deviation from circular form and roughness of spherical rollers is evidently improved; the surface deteriorated layer is removed; the noise level of bearings is largely decreased; the rotating precision is increased; the life and reliability of bearings is highly raised. The spherical roller superfinishing machine developed has advance and reasonable process technology and compact arrangement, which provide an effective special equipment to realize superfinishing of spherical rollers for our bearing industry.
