Semi-aerobic landfill can not only accelerate the stabilization of landfilled waste, but also reduce leachate pollutant intensity and greenhouse gas, so it will be a competitive way to treat MSW in the future. Through the test cell research on semi-aerobic landfill and Leachate collection system (LCS) hydrological mechanics analysis, this thesis reveals the degradation mechanism of waste in semi-aerobic landfill, the heat and gas flow pattern and leachate quality change characteristic, discusses on LCS design method. The thesis provides theoretic basis and technical support for the deep research and engineering application of semi-aerobic landfill.It was shown from the semi-aerobic landfill test cell experiment: the semi-aerobic test cell is more effective in acceleration of the biodegradation of MSW and stabilization process; the leachate pollutant concentration of semi-aerobic landfill test cell has lower apex value and decreases faster than the traditional cell and the leachate recirculation anaerobic cell; due to concentration of heat released by the organic MSW aerobic degradation, the temperature of semi-aerobic landfill test cell is generally 6℃ higher than environment temperature and shows a trend of three stages of early adjustment, fast increase and decrease; the temperature drops from the aerobic areas surrounding LCS to anaerobic areas.Through combining the three moisture movements of leachate seepage in drainage layer, leackage through liner and pipe flow in perforated drainpipes, a leachate hydrological mechanics model is established. This thesis analyses related parameters of LCS according to model results and offers a practical calculation method for landfill LCS design.This thesis is a good attempt for pushing forward the engineering application of semi-aerobic landfill in our country. The experiment results of test cells and theoretical analysis shed some light in the future design, operation and administration of semi-aerobic landfill, and contribute a lot to the improvement of theoretical support for landfill LCS design.
