The photosentive resin sensitization used in the field of rapid prototyping technology is studied. Several method to extend the photo responsive ability to longer wavelengths, even to the visible light region is studied. A series diphenyliodonium salts (R-Ph)2I+X- where R is H,CH3,Br or Cl and X is Cl-,Br-,I- or BF4-,PF6-,SbF6- was synthesized. Their structure and purities have been examined. The interaction of iodonium salt with amines in ground state and excited state have been investigated. In the case of diphenyliodonium chloride(DPIOC)/triethy(TEA) system, the complex formed was determined to be a one-to-one complex. The absorption maximum of complex longer than that of onium salt, and it is easy to synthesize aromatic amine dyes sensitive to the visible light through modification of structures. The photosentive resin have the characteristic of high concentration and the movement of molecule is restrict. We synthesized Bis(diphenyliodonium) salts of cosine (Eo(Ph2I)2) .Experimental results showed that dye-onium salt systems have higher thermal stability. (Eo(Ph2I)2) is suitable for polymerization of vinyl monomers, especially for the of circulates. Experimental results indicated that the same as those in solutions, and the rates of the ion pair initiated photo curing are far larger than those of intermolecular photosensitive systems.
