The purpose of this study is to increase the efficiency and reduce the energy consumption and the environmental pollution in the by-produced calcium chloride process. Though the composition of by-produced calcium water solution is relatively simple, for there is no solid phase precipitated present in the evaporating process, the properties of its target product are complicate for its high viscosity, strong corrosivity and the formation of various forms of crystals with water. In this study, an advanced numerical simulation method is adopted to systematically simulate the process, especially the evaporation process. A model for calculating the physical properties of calcium chloride, the optional evaporation processes and the evaporating parameters is set up, and a set of program based on visual C++ is written to make analogue calculation systematically to several forms of multiple-effective evaporation processes. The results of the simulation calculation are analyzed and compared technically and economically and the optimal evaporation process of calcium water concentration and its related process parameters are determined.The results of this research will be useful in future engineering design to the process, and lower energy consumption and production cost will be expected.
