The performances of printing paper relate well to printing quality. The purpose of this paper is to integrate theory with practice to analyze the relationship between of printing paper of printed matter quality. This can make press worker determinate rationally printing paper and improve the printing quality. The primary conclusions are applied to the practice of production, which can meet demotic needs, enrich physical and spirit life and advance the plus benefit of printed matter, which is of academic and practical significance for promoting the study of printability and the development of science and technology in print industry. The theory of rheology and chromatics are applied to research the compressibility and rheology properties of printing paper. The constitutive equation of a viscoelastic model of printing paper is obtained by means of Laplace transform, which can be used to analyze creep and relaxation characteristics. Based on the virtual work principle and thin plate theory, the viscoelastic properties of printing paper are analyzed by means of nonlinear finite element method. The incremental equilibrium equations of triangular plate-shell elements for material nonlinear analysis are derived. The curves about stress-strain are obtained. Compressive deformation behavior of printing paper based on the experiment is researched. The relationship between compressibility of other properties of paper which have influence on color reproduction are researched by using of linearity regression andthrice insert value. The results indicate that the stress-strain constitutive relation of printing paper is nonlinear and belongs to material nonlinearity question. The parameters and equations of compressive properties are confirmed by means of test data and mathematical analytical software. Compare numerical analysis results with experimental results, which are shown that numerical analysis results have accorded well with those obtained by experiments. The affection to color reproduction of properties of printing paper are analyzed. Compressibility of paper that connects with apparent density, print smoothness, water content, K&N value, gloss and stiffness have more important effect on color reproduction. It is the key factor to evaluate printing quality. The results indicate that the density relation of properties of printing paper is nonlinear relationship.
