The water pollution of inshore region is more serious at present than before in our country. To control the water pollution of the inshore, the hydrodynamic characteristic and mass transportation process should be simulated and reproduced. Based on the detailed and abroad investigation of the inland and overseas literatures about inshore three-dimensional flow numerical simulation, the COHERENS , which is developed by the U.K community , is applied on the Haizhou Bay of JiangSu province. First, the former research tidal flow numerical modeling is commented, and the development for tidal flow numerical modeling is analyzed. The basic three-dimensional equations in σ coordinate are build from equations in Cartesian coordinate .Second, the discretization grid and different schemes are presented,and mode-splitting solution technique is applied in this model .The two theoretical cases are used to compare and analyze the computational advection schemes in the model. Finally, the tidal flow and waste mass transportation of Haizhou Bay of Jiangsu are simulated. The computational results show there are the haigh accuracy and the adapability to complex topography in the model.
