At present, Spray Powder Dryer became more and more popular in the ceramicindustry, we take much study in the spray technique and spray dryer. Though thestructure of the spray dryer is simple, the flow filed of the inner tower is complexity andthe transfer of mass and thermal is also intricacy when the particle is dried. So, it is notenough to only take research on the structure of the spray tower. The paper make use thetheory of the two-phase flow and the transfer of mass and thermal theory to make threedimentional numerical simulation on pressure spray dryer. Then we can draw the truepicture of the diameter and distribution of spray drop, the temperature and velocityflow flied in the tower, which can provide us the academic for optimize design of singleatomizer blend flow pressuer spray dryer.Through studying the theory of two-phase flow and transfer of mass and thermal,and from practical operations, the paper establishing a practical significance spray dryerof 3D mathematical model, including gas flows, two-phase flow and nuzzle spray models.The gas flow use k-εtwo sides model, two-phase flow use disperse model, nuzzlespray use pressure-swirl-atomizer model.The paper build the physics and griding model of the PD100 spray dryer withGAMBIT, and take all-around numerical simulation of the velocity field, temperaturefield, diameter and distributing of particle with FLUENT. The task apply the atomizerparameter which common use in the spray dryer to pre-calculate and analyses. Then, wetake the best atomizer parameter to simulate the diameter and distributing of particle, andthe flow field. We compare two kind of position of the atomizer display and discover itcould take more effective use of the energy of tower top, make the tempurature andvelocity field more reasonable when we put the atomizer higher. From then, we canimprove the thermal efficiency of the tower. We made experiment to get the data oftemperature and granule grade in spray dryer, and the experiment data is accord with theresult of simulation. So, the three dimensional numerical simulation on single atomizerblend flow pressure spray dryer is successful.From simulation, we can provide academic foundation for the design of PD100spray dryer.
