The costs associated with wear processes place a significant burden upon manysectors of industry and the community. Several studies have indicated that the abrasion and corrosion in the coal and mineral processing industries are areas for research priority owing to their significant impact on metal wastage and maintenance costs. It was against this background that the present study was initiated, which had as its aim an evaluation of the methods currently used in the mining and mineral processing industries for determining the wear performance of plant and equipment components. In view of the work conditions of Jinchuan Copper—Nickle Sulfide ,the analysis of feeder liner was made.SEM analysis showed that drilling, cutting, and impacting of ore which resulted in pits were the dominating were means. Therefore, the liner materials should be required to have both very high surface to resist the drilling and cutting of ore and very high strength and toughness to resist impact lord. The wear of liner surface can be tackled by surface technology. Based on the experience of national research projects, high chrome white cast iron liner, handfacing liner have been preparated. The test results shows that, handfacing liner be fabricated by strip electroslag overlap welding process is more suitable to replace high manganese steel liner.
