The configurations of two plastics non-ionic antistatic agents, named HL-1/ HL-2 synthesized from lurylamine / n-octadecy amine and ethylene oxide, were confirmed by the Infrared spectrum and their ethylene oxide content were ascertained. The polymerization degree and antistatic property of the product catalyzed by acid prominently preceded the one catalyzed by alkali.It is the emphasis and innovation in the paper that HL-1 and HL-2 were modified by boric acid to improve their antistatic properties and flame-retardant properties. The conclusion can be drawn that the combustion velocity slowed if the content of the modified antistatic agent in PP sample increased and the relationship between them is linear.The antistatic properties of different antistatic agents and their effect factors were studied by measuring the surface resistance and the bulk specific resistance of PP sample. It is indicated that the resistance of PP sample descended with the content of antistatic agent increasing. And however, theresistance of PP sample couldn't further decreased when the content of antistatic agent was above 1 %, so the optimal content of the antistatic agent in PP sample is 1%. Among the antistatic agents used in the work, HL-1 appeared the best antistatic property and the surface resistance of PP sample decreases four orders. The resistance of PP samples reached the minimum after they were prepared for two months and decreased with the temperature increasing. The effect of the moisture of atmosphere on the resistance of PP sample was remarkable, and the relationship of water content in the unit surface area and the change of the surface resistance was approximately linear. In addition, the factors such as thickness and surface roughness of PP sample, dispersion of antistatic agents in PP sample and washing for PP sample, had also certain effect on the antistatic property.
