The process parameters of sintering and pore-forming for porous Al by powder sintering method with the gas-protecting furnace were researched in the thesis. The microstructure of porous Al was analyzed by means of SEM, EDAX and quantitative metallographic method. The pore-forming model of mixed powder was presented. The density, porosity and adsorption rate of porous Al were tested by the apparent volume and mass measured and soaking in medium method. Furthermore, the compression deformation behavior of porous Al was studied by static compression experiment. The main contents and results are as follows:.1. The rule of effects of sintering temperature and time on the structure and characteristics of porous Al were studied. The results show that the average porosity and compression strength of porous Al raise with increasing temperature and time when sintering temperature is lower than 620 ℃ and heat preservation time is below 40min. The properties of porous Al appreciably decrease with increasing temperature and time when the temperature surpasses 620 ℃ and time is over 40min. However, the sintering temperature and time have no obvious effect on the average pore size.2. The rule of effects of Al powder granularity, pressure and additives content on the structure and characteristic of porous Al were studied. The results show that the average porosity increases and the average density decreases with decreasing powder granularity or pressure or increasing additives content. The microstructure of porous Al shows anomaly pore morphology with average porosity of 35~55%, average density of 1.3~1.8g/cm~3 and average pore size of 30~90μm. The better process parameters of controlling pore characteristic of porous Al was proposed. The porous Al with homogeneous pore distribution and size and high porosity is prepared under powder granularity of 105~150 μm, pressure of 10~15KN, polyethylene glycol of 5~10%, FB content of 20~25%, sintering temperature of 620 ℃, and heat preservation time of 30~40min..3. The adsorption capacity of porous Al for pure water and kerosene were...
