The scrubbing wastewater in the course of sulphuric acid production is studied. The effect of polysilicate-metal coagulants on arsenic wastewater is investigated as well. It is shown that polysilicate ferrite(PSFS and PSFC)and polysilicate ferrite aluminum (PSFAS and PSFAC) are efficient for disposal of arsenic wastewater, while polysilictae aluminum (PSAS and PSAC) can not remove arsenic effectively. When the pH value was about 7.0, and the settling time was 30min, and the dosage was 100mg/L, the removal efficiency of arsenic can achieve 80% as polysilicate ferrite and polysilicate ferrite aluminum being used as coagulation reagents. The optimum condition of PSFAS can be obtained through orthogonal test, in which pH is of 8.0, and the settling time of 10min,and the dosage of 120mg/L, and molar ratio (Fe+Al)/SiO2 of 2:1. Thus the beneficial reference is provided for disposal of arsenic wastewater.
