The studies of kinetics and mechanism of transition metal ions catalyzed oxidation of some simple organic complexes by Ce(IV) in aqueous sulfuric acid media, monitoring by titrimetic techniques. Formation of a dinuclear complex involving the oxidant, catalyst and the substrate has been proposed in the reaction mechanism. From the hydrogensulphate dependence, some compounds have been found as the kinetically active species. The supposed mechanism could favorably explain the reaction results. Meanwhile, the rate constants(k) and activation parameters were obtained at different temperatures. Kinetics and mechanism of transition metal catalysed oxidation by Ce(IV) in previous works, which have be thought the intermediate adduct generate . But no one studies it more. Our studies on this kind of system will provide us with more dynamical parameters and provide theoretical foundation for the route design of the catalysis industries and quantitative analysis of analytical chemistry.
