230 strains obtained from isolating 1150 samples selected from the faecal and ruminal residues of buffalos under the strictly anaerobic conditions, three efficient cellulolytic bacteria are selected after a keen observation on these strains effect to degenerate the filter paper. No.301 is found to be the most competent, 1ml of the N0.301 fluid(1.7 × 10~3 cfu/ml) was poured and mixed with 9ml of the second medium, it can degenerate half of the filter paper in 3 days and the whole piece of paper in 7 days. It turns to be a circle oblong strain when magnified 40000 times by JSM-6360, the radium is 225nm.Optimum fermention conditions for 301 were studied. According to the result, the best fermention condition as fellow: under 37℃ the strain of 301 was in the 2-liquid medium and the optimum days was 7, the optimum pH was 7.5.lml of the No.301(1.7× 10~3 cfu/mL) that obtained when isolating from the buffalos faecal was poured and mixed with 9ml of the media, which have different pesticide, different concentration and the filter paper. The result showed that the decomposing of the filter paper was different as media was changed, there was little effect on the anaerobic cellulolytic bacteria under the low concentration (0.1mg/l,0.2mg/l) of pesticide, even herbicide could improve the ability of these under the low concentration. Fungi could restrain the ability to decompose the filter paper and insecticide also could do, but the herbicide would not effect the ability of the anaerobic cellolytic bacteria under the high centrage (0.4mg/L~1.6mg/L) .The cellulase of 301 was examined. The yield of cellulase was high. Among the three cellulases, the most yield of cellulase is microlite cellulose, the second yield of cellulase is filter paper. The lowest yield of cellulase is CMC. The fastigium of yield cellulase is 4 to 7; the most is 7.
