In this paper, the present situation of development and prospects of corrosioninhibitor for water treatment is studied on the base of having consulted lots ofdocuments. It shows the closed relation between development of technology ofwater treatment and environment protection. At present,Molybdate is becoming one of the environmental-friendal corrosioninhibitoers which is lowly-toxic and has the ability to restrain the corrosion of Cl-onmetal efficiently and has no restriction on environment. Therefore, its peformanceand mechanism on corrosion inhibition is indispensable to be studied further, whichis in favor of reducing its concentration, studying and exploiting corrosion inhibitorsmade up of Molybdate combined with other additives preferably.Molybdate's mechanism and its effect on the corrosion behavior of 20# and A3carbon steel in standand solution are studied and evaluated by the rotatingmetal-slice weight loss method,SEM and XPS surface analysis technique. The test is divided three parts including the static test, the dynamic test andsurface analysis test. First, Molybdate's effect on the corrosion behavior of 20#and A3 carbon steel in standand solution is investigated respectively in the statictest. The results indicate Molybdate has apparent corrosion inhibition and its effecton the corrosion behavior of 20# carbon steel is better than on A3 carbon steel.Whenthe concentration of MoO4 is 200mg/L,the corrosion inhibition ratio reachs 2-76.49% on 20# carbon steel while it is only 16.51% on A3 carbon steel. Second,Molybdate's effect on the corrosion behavior of A3 carbon steel in standand solutionis studied further in the dynamic test on the basis of the static test. The results show...
