Recently,cyclodextrin-porphyrins are extremely attractive components of artificial enzymes, mimietic electron transfer systems and photoenergy transfer systems by means of molecular recognition and complexing guest molecules of cyclodextrins. In this paper, the development of cyclodextrin-porphyrins was briefly reviewed. Moreover, we prepared a series of porphyrin compounds and modified cyclodextrins and found better way to synthesize, purity and separate the compounds. Particularly, some of new covalently-connected cyclodextrin-porphyrins have been synthesized. At the same time, these compounds obtained were characterized by spectra etc. They were described as follow: A series of modified 5, 10, 15, 20-Tetrakis(4-hydroxylphenyl) porphyrins was synthesized, including a kind of new porphyrin compound, 5, 10, 15, 20-Tetrakis (4-bromobutanephenyl) porphyrins. Moreovre, we found pyridine hydrochloride was an avariable of demethylating reagent for 5,10,15,20-Tetrakis(4-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin. β-Cyclodextrin and p-Toluenesulfonyl were mixed together in the presence of alkali to produce mono-6-(p-tolysulfonyl)-β-cyclodextrin. Mono-6-deoxy-6-azido-β–cyc-lodextrin was obtained by mono-6-(p-tolysulfonyl)-β-cyclodextrin reacting with NaN3 in DMF. Then mono-6-(p-tolysulfonyl)-β-cyclodextrin was acetylated in acetic anhydride. The yield of target compound as mono-6-(p-tolysulfonyl) peracetylated β-cyclodextrin was 70%. two kinds of new covalently-connected cyclodextrin-porphyrin compound were synthesized by mono-6-(p-tolysulfonyl) peracetylated β-cyclodextrin reacting with 5-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-10,15,20-tris(4-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin, 5, 10, 15, 20-Tetrakis (4-hydroxylphenyl) porphyrin respectively. The yield of compounds were 28%, 41%.The key intermediates and the target porphyrin compounds obtained in this paper were characterized by spectra etc.
