Carbonnanotubes(CNTs) have been recognized as one of the most fascinating materials because of their unique structural and consequently excellent mechanical, electrical, physical chemistry and optical properties,so CNTs have already been widely employed in physical, biotechnological, biomedical and biochemical fields. Research have proved that the carbon nanotubes have emerged as a new alternative and efficient tool for transporting bioactive molecules to cells and organs.Therefore,in this article,some new porphyrins-functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were synthesized,and studied the interaction with cyclodextrin and DNA,to explore the application of the complexes in the life sciences.We synthesized 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-xanthophenyl)porphyrin,5,10,15,20-Tetra-kis(4-N-ethylpyridin- iurmyl)porphyrin and their metalloporphyrins as well as the complexes of function- alized MWNTs in this paper. The molecular structures and performances of all the above compounds were characterized by 1H NMR,FT-IR,UV-vis and Fluorescence spectra.The supramolecular system of TXPP-MWNTs with cyclodextrin were weak. Zn2+ impact the binding mode of porphyrin and DNA. We could draw the conclusion from the changesd spectral that extended aggregation of TXPP-MWNTs and TXPP-π-π-MWNTs on the DNA template. Zn-TXPP-MWNTs and Zn-TXPP-π-π-MWNTs were found to be outside-binders with DNA. The results show that TXPP-MWNTs,γ-CD and DNA formed the formation of inclusion. Cyclodextrin hardly impact the interaction of porphyrin and DNA.The results show that TEPyP-π-π-MWNTs and Zn-TEPyP-π-π-MWNTs were very unstable. The inclusion ability of γ-CD with TEPyP-π-π-MWNTs is strongest, The inclusion constant (K) has been evaluated to be 9.18×103. When TEPyP-π-π-MWNTs interaction with DNA and α-CD or γ-CD, the fluorescence emission peak gradually increased, The reason may be that MWNTs precipitated from the solution.
