A process flow was put forward in this article to deal with waste aqueous ammonia containing impurities such as CO2, phenol, pyridine and phenylamine, by means of gas phase adsorption and acid absorption in order to recover ammonia in the waste solution. The active carbon ZX-15 was chosen optimally as adsorbent for this process and the study of the adsorption to the gas distilled from waste ammonia water is carried out. For adsorbent reactivation, two processes ware raised in this paper, including oxygen-poor oxidation and medium pressure saturated steam regeneration. Both of the processes can be used for the regeneration of adsorbent in the adsorber to reduce the loading cost of adsorbent and simplify the operating procedure, which is meaningful to the current production process. Besides, based on the test results and the existing unit in the Jiehua Group, the feasibility study of the process was made and the ammonia-recovering process from waste ammonia water is confirmed in this paper. The process can be widely put into operation of recoverying ammonia water project.
