| Ceramic tool materials have been developed rapidly, and have been applied in industry widely. The ceramics have higher hardness and lower coefficient of friction. The performance of ceramic tools at high temperature is very good. Ceramic tools are very suitable for the hard cutting, high speed machining and dry cutting. For difficult to machining materials, automatic production line, ceramic tools have already made the good processing results and enormous economic benefits.However, there are still further developments and extensive applications that a lot of factors restricted the ceramic tools at present. The acquirement of ceramic tools information such as tool selection, cutting parameters, tools material ,etc. Provide essential consultation for the tool developer and user. The ceramic tool materials database and its management system have been developed in this paper. The system is based on Windows NT/2000 environment. The main research contents are as follows:1. Data collection of ceramic tools, and the treatment and appraisement of the data;2. The match between ceramic tools and the work piece to be machined;3. Design and Developments of cutting database for ceramic tools;4. Auxiliary functions. |
