Cutting tools play an important role in the field of manufacturing, the level of itsmanufacturing restricts the level of machinery manufacturing industry level. Time scale of thetraditional manufacturing process about cutting tools (including basic time and auxiliary time)restricts the production efficiency. In order to improve production efficiency, can reduce thebasic time and auxiliary time. About reducing the auxiliary time, grinding a overallheat-treated bar to improve manufacturing productivity and processing accuracy by thefive-axis CNC tool grinder. About reducing the basic time, optimize manufacture processingand grinding parameters, build a grinding database system of complex tools by computers.Research on the contradiction between grinding efficiency and grinding burn of complexcutting tools, in order to achieve the goal of avoiding grinding burn and improving theefficiency of grinding, the following work has been researched.(1) Simulate tool path of complex tools by VERICUT, in order to achieve a morereasonable solution of manufacturing process, improve manufacturing productivity ofcomplex tools by optimization of their simulation results.(2) Obtain preliminary grinding process parameters By grinding manual and productionpractice, optimize grinding process parameters by orthogonal analytical methods whoseindicator is surface roughness of the specimen in the five-axis CNC tool grinder.(3) Manage the grinding process parameters of complex cutting tools by platform ofMicrosoft Visual Studio2008, develop grinding process database system by C#language, itspurpose is to provide practical grinding data to manufacturing grinding tools, meet thecompany’s production requirements.
