As one of technics, welding plays a important role in modern manufacture fields. Reasonability of welding parameters direatly affects the quality of products. The monitor and check-up in welding process and the way in assessing welding technics are less advance in China at present Only some basic parameters'check-up is available by recording instrument, such as current (I), voltage (U), velocity (v) and feed-in speed (Vf). Even some time the data of check-up is got by recorder's naked eyes, therefore, developing a multi-function parameter record instrument in welding, which can screen the average value as well as undulated hange, is importantThe developed multi-function parameters instrument can be used to check-up I, U, T (tempreture), v and Vf. Other parameters, such as linar energy, onsuming of welding rod, splashing rate, T8/5, can be got by relations among checked parameters. It also can be used to measure the external indentity of welding machine and draw the curve of external indentity automentThe instrument is composed of checking-up part, communicating part and screening part. The checking-up part includ N80C196KB SCM and corresponding periphery chips. The communicating part is based on RS-232 asynchronous serial communications control and MAX-232 chip. Microcomputer makes caculatting and screenning are possible.The programme of check-up part is compiled in assembly language. VB is used to design different visional UI in caculating and screening part. Some parameters are displayed both in number and wave way, which allows directly observe the changes of one parameter in whole process.Demarcating result of spot shows that the measure error of V, I, T and T8/5 are 1%, 1%, ±1℃, 0.6% Respectively. It suggests that the instrument is advantage of high reliability, evident anti-interference, easy manipulating convinieme and flexibility, can be used to measure the spot parameters in welding process.
