With the development of manufacturing, the finite element simulation of the metal plastic forming process has become an effective way to scientific predict and quantitative control in the plastic forming process. However, theoretical research results and numerical simulation results often have big discrepancy with that of the actual situation, we must adopt the experimental method to test, amend and supplement the results. Cold roll-forming process is a complex process, which is subjected to many factors. At present, the roller design is mainly dependent on empirical design, relying on trial and error process to get the technology law, which is lack of forming theory. In the article, a set of test system is designed to measure the rolling force, torque and rotational speed of cold roll-forming process, which can help to achieve real-time monitoring, to promptly grasp the unit parameters, to reduce debugging time, and to improve production efficiency. On the other hand, along with rapid development of the computer industry, CPU operation speeds, the memories increase, the entire computer performances improve continuously. That all make it possible for the further development of the virtual instrument and the improvement of its feasibility.Based on the mechanical property parameters of cold-formed steel unit, in the test system force sensors, torque sensors and speed sensors are designed to acquired the real-time signals of rolling force, torque and rotational speed. Those signals are conditioned by SCXI (invented by NI company), then respectively sent into the data acquisition card NI SCXI-1520and NI PXI-6229/6624, Then we can storage and analysis them, at the same time, we can build a mechanical property parameters testing system work interface of cold-formed steel unit through the LabView software programming.By this testing system using virtual instrument and sensor technology, we can make a complete test and analysis to the parameters of cold-formed steel unit. The system could not only complete data acquisition and processing reliably and exactly, but also generate the corresponding parameters and test results, which well satisfies the needs of the parameters testing. This technology can be applied to other related fields. The study of the mechanical property parameters can provide scientific data for the development of new products, the improvement of production process and product quality, and the control of production cost.
