Taurine,a non-protein amino acid containing sulfur,is indispensable to human beings and animals. It has been widely used in medicine ,food and Chemical industry because of its'unique medical and physiological effects. There are a few papers reported its'schiff base transition metal complexes,on the other hand ,few taurinate complexes have been reported. Because organosulfonates,(RSO3)-are typically employed as 'non-coordinating'anions. This has prompted us to search for such complexes,in ordrer to research the coordination chemistry of organosulfonates and find out some laws,We choose taurine as our study subject which is quite worth our researching. In this thesis,Seven taurinate complexes are synthesized and their crystal structure are determined by X-ray , elemental analysis , IR and thermogravimetric analysis. The crystal structure of the complex {k[Ni(C2H7NSO3)3]}n (Ⅰ) belongs to orthorhombic with space group Pna21 , The unit cell parameters: a=10.712(9)A|°,b=15.593(13)A|°, c=9.556(8)A|°;β=90°;V=1596 (2)A|°3,Z=4,Dc=1.957 Mg/m3 , μ=1.917 , F(000)= 968 , Mr= 470.22 , final R1=0.0413,wR2=0.0823 (I>2σ(I)). The central Ni(Ⅱ) was six coordinated with three O atoms, three N atoms from three different taurinate ligands to form a octahedron. While the K atom is surrounded by six O atoms from different taurinate ligands in a triangular prismatical geometry. The complex forms a three-dimensional structure through the K…O linkage. The dimeric molecule of the hydrothermally synthesizedbinuclear complex [Cu2 (C10H8N2)2 (C2H6NSO3)2(ClO4)2],a tauride complex, occupies a special position on an inversion centre. The complex belongs to Monoclinic system, space group P21/c with unit cell parameters: a=6.741(3)? ,b=15.58(3)?, c=15.126(6)?;β=91.4o;V=1588 (3)?3,Z=4,Dc=1.855Mg/m3,F(000)=900,Mr=886.65,final R1=0.038,wR2=0.1147 (I>2σ(I)).The Cu atom has a severely distorted octahedral coordination, with four short and two substantially longer bonds. The four short bonds involve two bipyridine and one taurine N atoms [Cu–Nbipyridine = 1.990 (3) ? and 2.025 (3) ? Cu–Ntaurine = 1.992 (3) ? ] as well as one of the taurine O atoms [Cu–O = 1.964 (3) ? ]. The second taurine O atom belonging to the second bridging molecule forms a much longer Cu–O bond [2.363 (4) ?],and the perchlorate O atom participates in the longest Cu–O bond [2.675 (3) ? ]. The molecules are linked via N–H….O bonds into infinite chains running along the a axis of the crystal structure. The crystal structure of the complex [Co(C2H6NSO3)(Phen)2](ClO4).H2O was synthesized by hydrothermal method . The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic systerm with space group P2(1)/c . The unit cell parameters: a=21.737(4)?,b=12.494(2)?, c=22.115(4)?;β=113.4o;V=5514 (17)?3,Z=4 , Dc=1.581Mg/m3 , F(000)=2692 , Mr=1312.88 , final R1=0.0712 ,wR2=0.1788 (I>2σ(I)). In the complex each Co atom is coordinated in Octahedron . The Co atom is surrounded by one N atom, one O atom from a taurinate ligand and four N atoms from two Phen ligands. There are two complex molecules in one asymmetric unit. They were linked by hydrogen bond involving the cations and perchlerate ions. Two new one-dimensional coordination polymer with mixed lingands were synthesized. The polymers consist of [Cu(C2H6NSO3)2] units bridged by 4,4'-Bipy to construct an infinite linear chain architecture. The complex (Ⅳ) belongs to Monoclinic system, space group P2/c,with unit cell parameters: a=9.865(11)?,b=11.385(9)?, c=12.952(14)?;β=107.446(5)o;V=1387.6 (2)?3,Z=4,Dc=1.570Mg/m3, F(000)=678,Mr=656.18,final R1=0.0634,wR2=0.1609 (I>2σ(I)).The complex (Ⅴ) belongs to Triclinic system, space group P-1 , with unit cell parameters: a=9.908(2)? , b=11.266(2)? ,c=13.085(2)?;β=93.9o;V=1325.6 (4)?3,Z=2,Dc=1.544Mg/m3, F(000)=646,Mr=616.21, final R1=0.1381 , wR2=0.3414 (I>2σ(I)). The Cu atom is surrounded by two N atoms, two O atoms from different taurinate ligands and two N atoms from two 4,4'-Bipy. In a enlong octahedran geometry. The neighboring infinite chains are connected by the hydrogen bonds forming a three-dimensional system. Two novel Single-Helix Coordination Polymer With Mixed Ligands [M(C2H6NSO3)2(4,4'-bipy)2]n ( C2H6NSO3 = taurine ),(M=Co or Ni) were synthesized by hydrothermal method,The molecular and crystal structure of the complex were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex 6 (M=Co) crystallizes in the trigonal system with space group P 3121. The unit cell parameters: a=11.2006(8)?,b=11.2006(8)?, c=14.1148(18)?;β=90o;V=1533.5(2)?3,Z=3,Dc=1.616 Mg/m3,F(000)= 771,Mr= 497.41, R1=0.0980,wR2=0.2748. the complex 7 (M=Ni) belongs to trigonlic system, space group P32 with unit cell Parameters: a=19.205(12)?,b=19.205(12)?, c=19.205(12)?;β=90o;V=4524 (6)?3,Z=3,Dc=1.636Mg/m3, F(000)=2304,Mr=1485.51,final R1=0.0677,wR2=0.1489 (I>2σ(I)).In the two complexes, each metal atom is coordinated in octahedron, and bridged adjacently by a 4,4'-bipy ligand to form a chiral helical chain along a crystallographic 31 axis in the b direction with a long pitch of 14.115(3) ? and 14.162 ?. The neighboring infinite helical chains are also connected by the hydrogen bonds forming a three-dimensional system.
