Recent days, research on microemulsion with isotropy and thermodynamic stability is a hot topics in material synthesis, aqueous coatings, catalysis and sensor fields. Due to the low toxicity and excellent biocompatibilities, nonionic surfactant is suitable to be used in the preparation of microeulsion that have many advantages in pharmacy, food and cosmetics. In this paper, nonionic surfactants were used to form microemulsion. The effect of component and additives in the formation of the microemulisons were investigated according to the Pseudotemary phase diagram. The solubilization of two powder chemicals, quercetin and nimodipine in the tween-80+n-Butanol+ oil+water system was studied. Some results aquired as following:(1) For the surfactant+ethanol+cyclohexane+water system, the adding of tween-80 and span-80 is easier to produce micro-emulsion than the surfactant alone. The microemulsion area reaches the maximum when the mass ratio of tween-80/span-80 is 4:6. The area of microemulsion decreases with the increasing of chain when alkane hydrocarbon chains was used as oil phase. This area remained the same when KC1 solution was added to the above system, it decreased while the adding of BaCl2 solution.(2) Microemulsion and its micellar solution have good solubilization to quercetin and nimodipine in the tween-80+n-butanol+oil+water system. And the solubility of nimodipine is 0.07mg/ml in water, 4.75mg/ml and 9.71mg/ml in microemulsions using Songjie oil, ethyl Glyceryl triacetate as oil phase and 4.40mg/ml accordingly in micellar solution. The solubility of quercetin is 0.01mg/ml in water, 4.84mg/ml and 8.40mg/ml in microemulsion using cyclohexane, Ethyl n-butyrate as oil phase, 4.93mg/ml accordingly in its micellar solution. The microemulsion using Pluroinic block copolymer has the feature of stability, toxicity less, excellent bioavailability, low CMCin solution. However the studying of its solubilization law is rarely touched for its complicated behavior . For this purpose, we investigated the solubility changing of benzene, toluene, xylene and quercetin by L64, P94 and F68 and the effect of inorganic electrolytes was also studied. The following conclusions were obtained:(3) The amount of solubilization of benzene is obviously higher than those of toluene and xylene. The maximum value of solubilization of benzene, toluene and xylene were 1.00, 0.46, 0.41 mg/ml; 1.84, 1.07, 0.69mg/ml; 1.51, 0.88, 0.64mg/ml respectively among the different concentration of L64, P94 and F68.(4) The CMC value of P94, L64 and F68 is 0.5, 1.76 and 2.12mg/ml respectively.(5) The CMC of P94, L64 and F68 decreased with the increasing of concentration of KC1 solution increases. However it increased with the adding of KI solution.(6) The Zeta potential decreased with an increase of the concentration of Pluronic block copolymer. But the system remained steady.(7) Pluronic block copolymer has excellent solubilization for quercetin. The order of solubility is P94>L64>F68 and the value of solubility is 1.89, 1.57 and 0.67 respectively.
