This thesis studies the stability of the surrounding rock in the fully-mechanized faces in Shaqu Mine. Field measurements were carried out on the mining pressure data of the ahead roadway in the working face. Theoretical analysis is made on the basis of the field measurement data. The tri-dimension numerical simulation was conducted by means of FEM (Finite Element Method) software ANSYS, which reaches for the law of mine pressure in the roadway reserved after mining the working face.Main achievements of this thesis are as follows:1) It has been found that the roof in the roadway displaces much at a quick pace, roof separation and the deformation of the surrounding rock occur frequently in working face 24101 in Shaqu Mine. The supporting intensity of the gateway in that working face should be strengthened.2) The conclusion can be reached that the roadway reserved may ensure its stability in the working face and the application of wooden buttresses in supporting may reinforce the supporting effect after the analysis of the law of mine pressure in the roadway reserved after mining the working face, the law of stress distribution 30 meters ahead and afterwards from the coal wall of the working face, and the law of displacement and deformationthrough the tri-dimension numerical simulation of FEM (Finite Element Method) software ANSYS.3) The rock pressure law in the roofs of the fully-mechanized faces has been obtained through observation of the rock pressure in Shaqu Mine. Theoretical analysis has been conducted on the range of ahead supporting and the parameter of the suporting techniques in that fully-mechanized gateway. Thus choices have been made on the adaptability of the hydraulic trestle to the fully-mechanized faces and its best working resistance parameter in Shaqu Mine.These achievements in this thesis are of important meanings in engineering and theory for the evaluation of the stability of the surrounding rock, supporting designs, the rock pressure, and rock control.
