Recently, more and more scholars have regarded using principle and method of compute hydrodynamics to simulate flow field of hydrocyclone. The article firstly simulates the internal flow field of compound hydrocyclone by using RNG K-ε model, basing on control volume method and applying SIMPLE arithmetic. Distributing characteristic of velocity, pressure, kinetic energy and dissipation rate of turbulence in internal flow field of hydrocyclone were gained by numerical computation. The article deals with oil phase flow by adopting algebra slip model. Distribution law and separation characteristic of oil and water phases flow were obtained by computing. From oil phase thickness distributing chart of vertical section, it can be seen that the mainly parts of oil water separation is rotation flow pipe, large cone segment and small cone segment. The conclusion is consistent with result of theory analyse. The established mathematical model achieved numerical simulation for distribution of oil phase slip velocity, which would help to analyse the progress of oil water separation in hydrocyclone. For checking up the result of numerical simulation, experiment study of separation character was completed about compound hydrocyclone, at the same time attainded velocity field by testing static separated segment. The result of simulation is basically in accordance with the experimental data, which the numerical simulation results of axial velocity and tangential velocity are very approach to the experimental result. By comparing experiment data and result of numerical simulation, it can be found that the comparing tangential velocity result of numerical simulation and experiment measure is basicly identical in outer freedom and the comparing axial velocity result of numerical simulation and experiment measure is very approach. The simulation Connection of flux and separate efficiency compared with the experimentation data and the relative error is within 7%. The simulation Connection of distributary ratio and separate efficiency compared with the experimentation data and the relative error is within 15%. The two results prove the correctness of mathematical model and computing method. The mathematical model and computing method can accurately forecast the internal flow field of compound hydrocyclone, which provides theory basic and experience for the study to compound hydrocyclone such as separation mechanism, flow field characteristic and structure optimization design.
