The methods of monitoring malodor pollution are dissertated synthetically. The static headspace-GC is used to determine the dimethyl sulfide in waste water. Factors influencing the quantity determination were deeply discussed. The detection limit is 0.02mg/L, the corresponding RSD falls within the range of 0.7%~2.0%, and recovery within 97.6%~103.4%. A new method to determinate the dimethyl sulfide in wastewater is established. Extract method is also used in dimethyl sulfide determination.Through comparison, the first method is more simple and rapid. This method is also used in the methanethiol determination, for low boiling point substance, the operation must be taken in low temperature. Volatilization character of dimethyl sulfide and methanethiol is studied, their transfer and diffuse rule is pointed. This method is also used to determinate formaldehyde. After contrasting the concrete circumstance among their experiments, discussed the apply finity of static headspace gas chromatograph method.
