The long afterglow luminescent glass can be used in so many fields that this material be paid more and more attention by the domestic and international researchers.The low melting glass and the long afterglow luminescent material CaTiO3: Pr3+ have been mixed as raw material, and the raw material has been prepared red long afterglow luminescent glass CaTiO3: Pr3+ through two step method. In the process of preparation, the content of the long afterglow luminescent material, reaction time, fusion temperature and the particle size of raw material effected the nature of the samples greatly. In the end, we determined the best reaction conditions. From the measurement of the emission spectra, excitation spectra and decay curve , we found that the nature of glass and the long afterglow luminescent material doped is similar, so, we thought that the luminescent mechanics is similar.The quaternary system long afterglow luminescent glass CaO-MgO-B2O3-SiO2 doped with Eu2+, Dy2+ has been prepared through one step method, the luminescent mechanics, the nature and the craft have been researched systematically. From the result, we considered that the transfer of positive hole model is congruent. In the weak reducing atmosphere, the samples have better light-brightness. From the study of the decay curve , we found that the doping agent Dy2+ was very important, if the Dy2+ have not been doped ,the sample did not has long afterglow light. When the doping content equaled 4 % (Dy: Ca = 4 % ) ,the luminescent intensity and luminescent time reached the best.
