Advanced Electrochemical Oxidation Process(AEOP) becomes a promising technique in wastewater treatment in advantage of high energy efficiency, easy to autocontrol and without second time contamination. To explore high efficient catalytic electrode materials is always the key process for the application of AEOP in organic pollutant degradation. Recent years, metal oxide complex electrode is more concerned for its high oxygen overpotential, semiconductor property and better electro-catalytic ability in organic degradation. But present studies are mainly concentrated on degradation efficiency of target organic pollutant. Study on the relationship among preparation procedure of metal oxide complex electrode, surface structure and eletro-catalytic oxidative activity, as well as the eletro-catalytic oxidation mechanism and dynamics characteristics of organic pollutant is informative to exploit new electrode materials and its industrial application. In this paper, the prepare procedure and eletro-catalytic characteristics of SnO2 and PbO2 electrodes have been studied, the electro-oxidative behaviors of simulated wastewater on electrodes have been investigated by electrochemical methods such as cyclic voltammetry(CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). The main contents are as follows: Several techniques of AOPs generally applied in wastewater treatment have been summarized. Progress in AEOP such as electrode material preparation and its application in organic wastewater treatment have been reviewed. Ti/SnO2, Pt/PbO2 and Ti/SnO2/PbO2 electrodes have been prepared respectively by thermal decomposition and electro-deposition. The structure characteristics of the electrodes have been studied by means of SEM, and their electrochemical performance have also been investigated. The results show that the electrode characteristic is closely associated with operation sequence and thermal decomposition times. Under our condition , the optimum procedure to prepare intermediate layers and active surface layers has been obtained. A new type PbO2 active layer electrode with strong binding power, high stability and catalytic activity has been prepared. The primary application of PbO2 electrode in COD measurement has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry(CV). The best COD test operating condition has been...
