The Baiyang Wetlands is the biggest wetland of freshwater and shallow lake type, it is important to maintain eco-enviroment of Hubei plain. In a way, it is the weatherglass to put up a harmonious society. Whereas, recently years, because of the double impacts of drought and pollution, eco-enviroment and social stabilization of the Baiyang Wetlands are being intimidated. China government, water conservancy department and haihe river administer committe have attached importance to the problem of ecologic environment of the Baiyang Wetlands. It is imperative under the situation to study Baiyang Wetlands.Aiming at the ecologic crisis that The Baiyang Wetlands are facing since 1980's, many scientific research, design units and university have done a lot of researches and have taken out much value production. But the research of carrying capacity of water resources of the Baiyang Wetlands and the minimum water quantity which ecology and environment demand need to be researched; the research of water quantity is limited in Baiyang Wetlands basin; experiential formula that the grads and the water quantity is negative index connection is only adopted to predict the water quality. In order to save living things of Baiyang Wetlands, basing on the datum and the production that have taken out, under the direction of the viewpoint of scientific development and putting up a harmonious society, The Baiyang Wetlands is deeply researched. The main contents are following:First, general situation of The Baiyang Wetlands. The geology, history, economy and society situation and the ecologic crisis that The Baiyang Wetlands are facing are generally introduced.Second, the research of water quantity and carrying capacity of The Baiyang Wetlands. Basing upon water resource of source of haihe river situation and sustain development viewpoint, the meaning of Water Resource Carrying Capacity is put forward, the lowest water level of ecologic sensitive region is fixed on and water resources carrying capacity aim is set up. Combining with diachronic way and the system forecast model, the minimum water quantity of The Baiyang Wetlands caused by multi-rivers and multi-water head applying water is predicted, basing on the two production, the foreground of water quantity that can supply is predicted.Third, research on The Baiyang Wetlands water quality and water environment. According to analysis the applicability of present way to evaluate lake water quality, applying artificial neural network, water quality in low lake wetland is generally evaluated.
