| With the rapid development of science and technology, organic/inorganic compositematerials have been hot point in many fields of scientific research. Titania has been applied as a kindof pigment into industries such as dope, plastics, paper making, fabric and etc. Titantium dioxidewith fiber grade for extinction is required to have great dispersion in polyester, whenever the processof fiber production or intrinsic quality of fiber is required. Therefore, organic modification of titaniais important. The main part of dissertation is composed of two ones. The first part is about modification oftitania with surfactants. These surfactants included LAS,PE, stearic acid, PK, TPES, SDS, NP/25,sodium of lauric acid, dodecyl sulfonic acid sodium salt,ADDP7#, LAS/PE, LAS/stearic acid andetc. The most concerned research conditions are temperature, pH, the amount of modifier and ratioof modifiers. Means of characterization such as contact angles, oil adsorption, DSC wereconcerned. The result showed that ADDP7# has good hydrophobic and heat-resistant prosperity.Hence it is an ideal modifier for titania. The second part is that titania can be modified insitu-polymerization. The main monomers were St-BA,St-MA,St-MMA and MMA.The mainemulsifiers were LAS, SDS, NP/25, OR/36, PK, dodecyl sulfonic acid sodium salt。 The primarilyconsidered conditions were types of monomers, types of emulsifiers, amount of monomers, amountof iniators, temperature of polymerization, pH, velocity of sintering, time of polymerization. Thecharacterization was mainly by IR, DSC, contact angles, PC, E. It was found that under certain fixedconditions St-BA, dodecyl sulfonic acid sodium salt ,LAS, OR/36, SDS, 40 percent of monomers, aconcentration of 8 mmoLL-1 for iniators, 60 ℃ of polymerization temperature, 7 of pH value, 600N/min for sintering speed, over 10 hours for polymerization time, could get better PC and E. At thesame time, DSC indicated that titania encapsulated by polymer was heat-resistant under 300 ℃. Inaddition, mechanism of modification in situ polymerization was primarily studied throughdetermination of adsorption isotherm for titania. |
