It is a valid way to use inorganic rigid particles to reinforce material. It has been developed very fast in recent years. With the stuff size evolved from micrometer to nanometer, thermoplastic composite reinforced by inorganic rigid nano particles is a new hot spot to study. On the other hand, the whisker of ZnOw is very attractive forits unique micro structure ,high tensile strength and high elastic modulus.In this paper, a small quantity of nanoAl2O3, light activity nanoCaCO3 , the whisker of ZnOw and the mixture of nano Al2O3and thewhisker of ZnOw were used to reinforce the PP-R polymer. These thermoplastic composites were prepared by the melt—blending process. The reinforcing effects of mechanics were compared carefully. The tensile strength and elastic modulus were risen in different degree. Especially, when the polymer matrix was admixed with 5% weight of ZnOw , the composite' s tensile strength could be boosted 12%, and when it was admixed with 10% weight of ZnOw, the composite' s elastic-modulus could be boosted 22%. By the SEM photograph, we can find those inorganic rigid particles were dispersed evenly.Based on the microstructure mechanics principles,we can identify the model of finite elements. In order to simulate the reinforce effect of ZnOw , the single direction short fiber model was uesd.The composite' s elastic modulus was predicted via the FEA softwear ANSYS,and was compaird with the Halpin-Tsai formula of single short fiber composites.The result reveals that both the FEA method and the Halpin-Tsai formula have a certain accuracy. Final1y, the classic Halpin-Tsai formula of random short fiber composites was applied to predict the composite's elastic modulus, and the result is similar to the value through experimental measurement.
