Cancer is one of the serious diseases which threaten our lives. Malignant tumors would destroy human organs directly or indirectly, damage the important systemic structure and function of the human body, and then cause the death of the sufferer. Since malignant tumors are very difficult to cure, and they are endangering people's life, they are becoming main targets in medicinal area. With the increase of the knowledge of tumors and the development of science and technology, the skills for tumor therapy, such as surgical therapy, radiation therapy, anticancer chemical therapy, improved rapidly. But the current solutions for tumor therapy cannot meet people's demand. People are still striving to explore the new methods for tumor therapy. Photodynamic therapy is one of the new methods for tumor therapy.Photodynamic therapy (PDT), which was called photo radiation therapy (PRT) formerly, is a method by irradiating photosensitive compounds which had been injected into a patient's body with given wavelength light so that producing a series of chemical reactions, physical reactions, biological reactions for tumor diagnosis and tumor therapy. The effect of PDT is relevant to the photosensitive compounds used. Different photosensitizers would have different effects, so it is possible to explore more effective photosensitizers by molecular design. On the basis of a number of literatures, we have synthesized a series of imine ligands and their transition metal complexes. We have also chosen some of the photosensitive complexes to study their photosensitivity. We have summed up the main research results as follows. 1.We have synthesized four ligands: 2-(3,5-Dimethyl-pyrazol-1 -yl)-benzothiazole (L1) 2-(3-Methyl-5-phenyl-pyrazol-1-yl)-benzothiazole (L2). N, N'-bis(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-1,2-diaminobenzene (L3). 3,4-Bis- [(2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-amino]-benzoic acid (L4), and characterized their structure with IR, Single-crystal X-ray structure...
